Doucette

"Mama let that boy, play some rock n' roll
Jazz is much to crazy
He can play it when he's old"

This is what my copy of Mama Let Him Play by Doucette looks like. I have the CD version with the green border. Was it worth buying? I'd have to say yes. I paid $13 for it when it came out and actually ordered 2 other copies that i sold. Some people would say that there's only one really good song on it. I'd have to say that sometimes one song is so pure and classic that it alone is worth the admission. Mama Let Him Play is the song that defines Jerry Doucette as Canadian classic rock but certainly not the only song he has. All I Wanna Do is a good song although not an anthemic rocker like Mama. The record did well in Canada and at the time seemed like it might be the beginning of a great thing. Turns out it was the pinnacle. I've seen this rare CD selling between $35 to $200.00 on some sites. Yes it was worth buying for more than a few reasons.

"Let him play some rock and roll"

To be completed later.

one of Canada's greatest one-hit-wonders. A true icon. If only he had a great follow-up single.
