Some say classic rock is any music that's old. I say it's music that you like and will like forever.
Suggestions
Since I haven't had time to list very many artists for this blog, I would appreciate your suggestions as to who I should include as Canada's best classic rock.

You really need to include David Wilcox in this list. He has been rocking this country for years and contiues to do so.
Crowbar,Lighthouse,Five Man Electrical Band,Fludd,Mandela,Ian Thomas,Abrahams Children,Steel River to name a few that should be on here plus many others
Ahh, all you YOUNG folks. Your memory (or research) doesn't go back far enough in time.(admittedly, some of the names below do, however, come down to a matter of classification as to whether they should or should not be included)
Others to add to the list (MAY) include: - The Four Lads - The Crew-Cuts - The Diamonds - Paul Anka - Ronnie Hawkins - The Beaumarks - Bobby Curtola - Gordon Lightfoot - Joni Mitchell - Leonard Cohen - Denny Doherty (of The Mamas & the Papas) - David Clayton-Thomas (of Blood, Sweat & Tears) - Andy Kim - Zal Yanovsky (of The Lovin' Spoonful) - Ian & Sylvia - Chad Allan & the Expressions (the core of which evolved into The Guess Who) - Stan Rogers - Murray McLauchlan - Bruce Cockburn - Willie P. Bennett - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - The Bells - Beau Dommage - Battle Ax (a sort-lived, formative band the evolved in BTO / saw them in a bar in Burlington, ON once / not sure if it was "Ax" or "Axe")
Queen City Kids BTO Woodwork Chilliwack The Pumps Orphan Aldo Nova Kim MItchell Northern Pikes Honeymoon Suite Headpins Toronto Triumph The Watchmen Crash Test Dummies Platinum Blonde Parachute club Glass Tiger - so many great bands - i will check my cassettes for others
SEveral bands already noted such as Lighthouse and Five Man Electric Band, but you could add the Spoons (Romantic Traffic, Old Emotions, Nova Heart); Martha and the Muffins need to be included for Echo Beach and that great wailing sax if nothing else; more from the Left Coast and you have to include The incredible Doug and the Slugs who gave us so much great music; Edward Bear (was on 7 up rock caps with many others in the 70's); changing gears and you have to include Bare Naked Ladies!; the Box and Sass Jordan; not my cup of tea, but Neil Young has to be on any list; Feist; unique bands such as FM featuring Nash the Slash; Michel Pagliaro and Roch Voisine; The Bells from the 60's and Crowbar. Too many to name.
Over the years many great music artists have come from Canada. A country with a small population has produced a surprising amount of talent. To find out how Canada rocks read the blogs, get the music and go to a show.
