The 1970 Manitoba Pop Festival at Winnipeg Stadium featured, among many other great bands, Led Zeppelin, Iron Butterfly, The Youngbloods, Ides of March and Chilliwack. A thunderstorm forced the event indoors to the Arena. Some of Zeppelin's equipment didn't arrive and they had to borrow from other bands, including a guitar loaned to Jimmy Page that Randy Bachman used to record American Woman. Zeppelin didn't start until 2 AM but neither the soaking from the rain nor the delay dampened the crowd's spirit. I've been to many a concert since then, but none as memorable. Certainly $5.50 well spent! http://bit.ly/yW3Zi9
Over the years many great music artists have come from Canada. A country with a small population has produced a surprising amount of talent. To find out how Canada rocks read the blogs, get the music and go to a show.
