Trooper

“One for the money
Two for the show
Three for the lady on the radio”

Visions of white Trans-Ams come to mind when I think of the first time I heard Trooper on the radio. The Boys In The Bright White Sports Car was the song that made me want one.

I think almost everyone who likes classic rock in Canada has a Trooper album of some kind. If you’re on this site chances are you have just been to a Trooper concert and are craving more of their music. Perhaps you just want to refresh your memory to a time when music was awesome. I’ve seen the band many times and they never disappoint.

Albums to buy would definitely be: Trooper Hot Shots which is somewhat of a greatest hits collection, and The Last Of The Gypsies which was a surprise gem later on in the bands recording history.

Trooper Hot Shots has the songs: The Boys In The Bright White Sports Car, Raise A Little Hell, Santa Maria, We’re Here For A Good Time (Not A Long Time), Pretty Lady, Two For The Show, and seven other good songs. That’s twelve out of twelve good songs so buy that.

The album; Last Of The Gypsies has the songs: Boy With A Beat, Workin’ Like A Dog, $100,000, Thin White Line and six other good songs. Ten out of Ten says buy that too.

After buying those two albums you will think you have an awesome collection of songs but you will still be missing a few. Download the songs: 3 Dressed Up As A 9, Go Ahead And Sue Me, Janine, and Drive Away, and or buy the Flying Colors CD. Other albums exist but these contain most of the radio hits. Some people say Thick As Thieves is the best Trooper Album from beginning to end.

“A very good friend of mine
Told me something the other dayFlying Colors
I'd like to pass it in to you
Cause I believe what he said to be true
He said

We're here for a good time
Not a long time (not a long time)
So have a good time
The sun can't shine every day”
